The International Union of Operating Engineers has a hiring hall “IUOE Local 701” in Gladstone, Oregon. Anyone with heavy equipment experience can sign up on the Group 3 list. The Laborers’ international Union of North America has three hiring halls located in Portland, Bend and Medford. The Teamsters Union has a hiring hall located in Salem.

Oregon Mainline Paving is a registered training agent in the apprenticeship program for both laborers and operators. The Apprenticeship programs are designed to accommodate to skilled workers to ensure them with competition in the work force. Apprenticeships are on-the-job training connected with class room instruction, where workers acquire knowledge of a highly skilled profession. Minorities and women are strongly encouraged to apply for the program.
If you do not have any heavy equipment experience, the Operating Engineers Local 701 has an apprenticeship program located in Eugene Oregon. If you do not have any laborer experience, Oregon & Southern Idaho’s Laborer’s Union has an apprentice program located in Corvallis, Oregon.
