Responsible for watering equipment, including but not limited to rollers, grinders and plant equipment. Responsible for watering haul routes for dust control. Perform dust control by watering around the plant site. Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations. Keep record of materials and products transported. Do not operate truck without performing a pre-trip Inspection. Report all mechanical difficulties with truck to the mechanic. Drive in a responsible courteous manner and be aware of people, objects and equipment around the truck. Assist in mobilization process as required by the supervisor. Mobilization includes loading and unloading equipment and materials and tying down loads.
Driver will spend a majority of the time sitting in the vehicle. They will be required to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds and frequently lift up to 20 pounds. The driver will continuously be working outside or in the equipment on construction projects, and very rarely will be working in an office environment. The driver will be exposed to outdoor conditions and loud noise regularly.
Oregon Mainline Paving takes safety very seriously. The driver will be required to complete any and all protective measures requested by the company to reduce risk to themselves, their co-workers, and the traveling public.
Oregon Mainline Paving performs 95% of their work for ODOT and other county and city municipalities and is a union contractor. Union wages will be paid along with all union benefits required of the Teamster’s Union. In some circumstances, the driver may be paid more if the prevailing wage requirement is above the stated union wage. An employer paid EAP program is also available to all employee’s.
